Who’s tapping on Mae's head?
Sugar knocked Mae's hat off…. Then proceeded to style Mae's hair.
Who’s lurking above you, Marty?
When we were busy getting ready to leave a dock,
sometimes, we have to lock Sugar in the aft cabin so she does not jump off the
boat and onto the dock. Pictured here,
Sugar is playing with the latch and she has not figured out YET how to open it. One evening, she was pretending to be
Houdini. In the middle of the night, as
she was perched on top of Marty, Sugar was pawing the partially opened window
that had a 2 cm opening. Marty didn’t
think she could fit through so he closed his eyes to go back to sleep. Within minutes, Marty yelled out the cat’s
out! Mae half dazed and asleep couldn’t
figure out what was up and figured out
to grab the cat treats and ran up above.
Fortunately, Sugar was sitting in the cockpit.
After our experience of losing Sugar in Port Hardy, we lock out hatchway. Sugar is not particularly happy with that. During the night she would prowl around looking for away out. One time, she leaped through our forward hatch and broke through the screen. The screen had already been ripped from a time when Rose accidently stepped through it from above. The screen was stitched together and held on with duc-tape until we had the right screen material to replace it. Thanks Michelle and Greg from Port McNeil for the screen material.
