September 22-24 Hanging Out in Gibsons, B.C.

September 22 ~ Gibsons Landings Fishermen's Wharf

This was good day to walk around the town of Gibson as we found the Library, City Hall and the Post Office.  We decided to find the other main shopping area; however, that meant we had to walk up a very steep road (21% grade) called “School Road.”

This is quite an interesting vehicle.

Persephone was the boat used in one of the longest running t.v. series, “The Beachcombers” that ran from1972-1990.   This little girl’s name is Persephone as well.   We like this ‘Persephone’ better.

Gibsons Landing Fishermen’s Wharf behind us.
We had a great dinner at the Blattlers’.  This is Mae’s sister, Ginny with Bailey and Rose.  Al caught a Coho salmon the day before.  Oh yummy as it’s great to have fresh salmon.

September 23 ~ Exploring Gibsons

During our walk on September 22, we discovered a cool book exchange box on the corner of O’Shea/Shaw Roads.  In order to get there, we had to walk the 21% grade School Road.  The exercise was great!

This was a very wet day.  In the afternoon, Mae hung out for a few hours with Ginny while Marty was puttering about in the galley making soup stock and bread.   Mae was sure he enjoyed the peace and quiet without her.  On the way back from Ginny’s, Mae checked out Gibsons’ Zero Waste Reuse Store.  Great idea!

Pets out for a walk on the dock.

Ali and Ginny had a blast teaching Sugar how to walk on the leash.  Sugar is slowly making the transition.

A wonderful visit with Marc, Meg and Isabella who came to our boat for ice cream and gingersnap cookies.

A future sailor!
